| These are the newest type of application for you to explore and use the Internet. In most cases, a fancy menu bar sits on the top or bottom of your desktop with buttons for e-mail, news, searching, chatting and more. Sorry, Win 3.x folks! This one is just for Windows 9x and it is wonderful! It sits at-the-ready in the tray waiting for you to go onto the Internet. Then it collects up weather information from your local NOAA weather station. When you click on the tray icon, you get a summary of the last reported temperature, humidity, wind speed, air pressure and current conditions.
Best of all, the WetSock icon changes to display the current conditions - an umbrella for rain, headlights for fog, etc. And WetSock will also display detailed local forecasts, extended five-day outlook, and any NOAA weather alerts. |
