Q. There are rumors saying that UPN is interested in picking up Sliders for a sixth season. Is this true? If it isn't, are there any networks interested in saving this great show?

A. A recent Sci Fi Channel poll, held on the Sci Fi TV Wire Web site, resulted in 2/3's of the respondents saying that the Sci Fi Channel had made a mistake canceling Sliders. The truth is, the Sci Fi Channel no longer wanted to spend it's a portion of its limited yearly funds on this product when other newer shows are available.
Don't believe the rumors right now. UPN's recent experience with bringing The Sentinel back, only to cancel it again, won't make the execs in any rush to re-start another cancelled show. And Sliders is less popular, ratings-wise, than Farscape, for example.
With barely five seasons produced, Sliders qualifies for broadcast syndication of re-runs. That's where you are likely to see it again.

A. Patti Smith was singing "Dancing Barefoot" at the beginning of that Millennium episode. It is the title song of Smith's 1979 album, available from Arista Records. You'll find all you want to know about Patti Smith, including lyrics to "Dancing Barefoot," at a patti smith babelogue.

Q. There is an episode of Highlander where Duncan finds his 1st love's bracelet. He returns to Scotland to bury the bracelet in her grave. while he is searching
for her grave they play a song. Can you find out what the title of the song is & who sings it?

A. That episode, "Homeland," was the fourth season opener. When Duncan McLeod searches for the grave of Debra in Glenfinnen, the traditional Celtic folk song, "Bonny Portmore," is sung by Grammy-nominated artist, Laura Creamer, and arranged by Highlander series composer Roger Bellon. The show's producers wanted to secure the rights to Loreena McKennitt's original recording but budget and time constraints made it impossible. Ultimately, McKennitt's recording was used in the third Highlander movie, "Highlander: The Final Dimension."

episode "Chrome II" airing the week of 2-16-98. She played Rachel Lang. I think she is Italian and I have seen her in a number of other shows. Do you have any idea what her name is?
