Reference Information On The Web
You don't have to leave your home anymore to find information. No longer must you travel to a library or seek researchers, phone operators and other go-betweens. You can find information yourself. The Web is literally a world-wide resource. The trick is finding the information.
This page has links to information sources on the Web. Most of the links will take you to pages with "Search Boxes" - you enter a phrase and you get information - almost always more information than you imagined.
Interested in getting to these Web Pages? All you have to do is click on the underlined name of the Web Page you want.
These
days the Web provides information and resources for most Web travelers.
But there was a plethora of resources which were on the Internet BUT
ONLY available via Telnet.
HYTELNET was a program to access Telnet. The HYTELNET Web site now maintains
a list of links that were available at the Telnet library & other sites, as well
as Telnet tips & information. Now the HYTELNET site is one of the best references about an important part of the Internet's development and history.
Your Web browser is likely to be able to display Telnet sites, but with the development of the Web, there are few, if any, active Telnet sites any longer.
If you do discover any, we recommend a terminal program to make your efforts easier. For more
